The great benefit to the fantasy boom of the 70's and 80's is the sheer amount of EARNEST content we got from it all. Loveable nerds who wanted to write and draw half-naked women on dragons, powerful wizards, and terrifying monsters didn't care about wether or not it was popular. They certainly didn't care if it was "cool". Explore Fantasy before it got sanitized and packaged for sale by modern day capitalism. Come join me as we see why this era was so special!
There's something to be said about 5e D&D. It really helped popularize TTRPG's for a modern audience, and the simple playstyle is incredibly refreshing! That being said, as D&D becomes more and more of a mainstream hobby, some of the old, imaginiative charm can be lost. Want to get a little closer to how it felt to play back in the 80's? Old School Revival does, too!
5e and Dungeons and Dragons aren't the only systems available! And there are some great tools for your use in your TTRP games regardless of if you're playing with a group of people or going at it solo.
Sometimes you want a semi-random adventure...but you don't want to deal with real-life people. Maybe you're shy! Maybe your friends are all busy. Maybe you just want to daydream but with a little structure thrown in for added spice. I hear ya! So, how do you do it?
